Program Infomation
1. Discipline Introduction:The discipline of Management Science and Engineering, was first established in 1956. Later in 1986, it started to offer PhD programs. After that in 1990, the first batch of post docs joined the post-doctorate station. In February 2002, Management Science and Engineering was approved to be a national key discipline and later in 2007, it was named as the national level-1 key discipline. The academic level and discipline construction was ranked 3rd nationwide.
Management Science and Engineering is vital to solving today’s critical and complex problems in manufacturing, distribution of goods and services, transportation, the environment, etc. Current research areas focus on industrial engineering, logistics management, project management, optimization and simulation of production and service systems, decision and decision support systems, complex data analysis, system engineering, and operations research.
A wide array of courses cover such areas as operational research, decision analysis, supply chain management, human resource management, project management, management information system, transportation planning and traffic management, Microeconomics, Statistics etc.
